#CDMX | El diputado Ricardo Monreal Ávila, coordinador del Grupo Parlamentario de Morena y presidente de la Junta de Coordinación Política (Jucopo), respaldó de manera contundente la decisión de la presidenta Claudia Sheinbaum de interponer una denuncia civil por la medida unilateral que busca cambiar el nombre del Golfo de México. Monreal destacó que la jefa de Estado es la única autoridad que puede emprender acciones de esta índole a nivel internacional.
En declaraciones a la prensa, el legislador subrayó que el Tratado de Guadalupe de 1847-1848 establece claramente que el Golfo de México lleva ese nombre y que el cambio propuesto es una violación de los límites históricos de México. “La mayoría del Congreso respalda esta acción. Los documentos históricos no pueden ser ignorados”, afirmó Monreal.
Además, aseguró que la demanda civil que se presente en tribunales internacionales será fundamental para preservar los derechos de México sobre sus fronteras y recursos naturales, a pesar de las dificultades con la administración del expresidente Donald Trump. Monreal recalcó que la unidad nacional es esencial en este momento y reiteró su apoyo a la presidenta Sheinbaum, quien, según él, ha mostrado un firme compromiso con la defensa de la soberanía nacional.
Por otro lado, respecto a los aranceles impuestos por Estados Unidos, Monreal mencionó que desde el Congreso se están buscando alternativas y se están organizando foros, como el convocado por la Comisión de Hacienda y Crédito Público, para discutir el impacto económico y buscar soluciones en conjunto con empresarios y expertos.
En relación con el tope de precios a las gasolinas, Monreal expresó su apoyo a la medida anunciada por la presidenta Sheinbaum, asegurando que está cuidadosamente planeada para no generar un impacto inflacionario significativo
