#PUEBLA | Paristas de la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras (FFyL) de la Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP) informaron sobre la expulsión de Carolino, el perrito que había hecho de la facultad su hogar.
La decisión ha generado un intenso debate en redes sociales.
De acuerdo con un comunicado, difundido en la página de Facebook “Paro Estudiantil FFyL”, ante la falta de personal del Departamento de Administración y Seguridad Universitaria (DASU), responsable del cuidado del perro, los presuntos estudiantes en paro determinaron que no podían garantizar su bienestar ni la seguridad del alumnado.
Los alumnos aseguraron que en la última semana, por lo menos cuatro de sus compañeros “fueron mordidos por el perro de acompañamiento universitario, Carolino”.
Como resultado, solicitaron su retiro de las instalaciones universitarias.
Según el comunicado emitido por los paristas, la decisión fue informada al jefe de seguridad del DASU, quien aceptó recibir a Carolino junto con sus pertenencias.
Además, el documento señala que los términos y condiciones de la entrega fueron determinados por la DASU, eximiendo a los estudiantes de cualquier responsabilidad posterior.
En un segundo comunicado, los paristas señalaron que Carolino fue recibido, junto con sus pertenencias, y llevado al Edificio “Don Bosco”, ubicado frente a la facultad, y reiteraron que no se responsabilizan de situaciones posteriores ocurridas con él.
La historia del perrito Carolino
Carolino es un perro que con el tiempo se convirtió en parte de la comunidad de la facultad. Su presencia se remontaba a varios años atrás, y era un compañero habitual tanto para estudiantes como para el personal administrativo.
El nombre del canino proviene de su supuesta aparición inicial en las inmediaciones del edificio “El Carolino” de la BUAP.
El personal de la DASU fue el primero en adoptarlo y encargarse de su cuidado, pero con el estallido del paro estudiantil y la ausencia del personal administrativo, su situación se volvió incierta.
La salida de Carolino ha dividido opiniones dentro de la comunidad universitaria. Mientras algunos estudiantes consideran que la medida era necesaria para priorizar la seguridad del alumnado, otros lamentan la decisión, argumentando que el perro fue desplazado de su hogar sin considerar su bienestar.
Hace un año, en entrevista con medios de comunicación, Ángel Yáñez, director de la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras, contó que el perro vivía en la calle hasta que tuvo la determinación de entrar al edificio siguiendo a un miembro del equipo de la Dirección de Apoyo y Seguridad Universitaria (DASU).
Al verlo pequeño y adorable, decidieron dejarlo pasar la noche bajo el techo de la BUAP, pero al pasar los días el can no se iba, por lo que finalmente lo adoptaron.
“Se le acondicionó un espacio con cama y se le comenzó a atender con su esquema de vacunas, servicio médico veterinario”, destacó en aquel entonces el funcionario.
Para poder quedarse dentro de la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras, Carolino no solo vigilaba la escuela, también tuvo que comprometerse a asistir una vez al Centro de Apoyo Emocional y Terapia Ocupacional, donde asistió a personas que lo necesitaban.
“Buscamos que el perro ayude en caso de que alguna persona de nuestra comunidad tenga alguna crisis por depresión, aislamiento o ansiedad”, declaró el director de la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras en aquel entonces.
