El pasado 20 de mayo, trabajadores de la construcción hallaron restos humanos durante una excavación en un terreno contiguo a la antigua residencia del músico Gustavo Cerati, ubicada en el barrio de Coghlan. Tras semanas de análisis forense, el Equipo Argentino de Antropología Forense (EAAF) confirmó que pertenecen a Diego Fernández Lima, un joven de 16 años que desapareció el 26 de julio de 1984.
Las pericias determinaron que la causa de muerte fue una herida cortopunzante en la cuarta costilla derecha y que el cuerpo fue manipulado después del fallecimiento, lo que apunta a un intento de ocultar el crimen.
El principal sospechoso es Norberto Cristian Graf, excompañero de escuela de la víctima y residente en el inmueble donde fueron encontrados los restos. Graf se presentó de manera voluntaria ante la Fiscalía Nacional en lo Criminal y Correccional N.º 61, aunque el caso se encuentra prescrito legalmente debido al tiempo transcurrido.
A pesar de la prescripción, el fiscal Martín López Perrando continúa recabando testimonios de excompañeros de la víctima y de los trabajadores que descubrieron los restos, con el objetivo de reconstruir los hechos y esclarecer lo ocurrido hace más de cuatro décadas.
La familia de Diego, que soportó más de 40 años de incertidumbre, impulsa ahora la llamada “Ley Diego”, una iniciativa que busca eliminar la prescripción en casos de desaparición de menores, con el fin de evitar que crímenes de este tipo queden impunes.
