#ESTADOSUNIDOS | Una mujer fue arrestada por presuntamente äpuñälär a una madre que le cambiaba el pañal a su bebé de 10 meses en una sucursal de la tienda departamental Macy’s de Herald Square en Nueva York, de acuerdo con medios locales.
La afectada era una turista originaria de California que se encontraba visitando la Gran Manzana para hacer sus compras navideñas cuando fue agredida por la mujer.
El ataque ocurrió el pasado jueves 11 de diciembre cerca de las 15:00 horas cuando la mujer de 38 años —cuya identidad no fue revelada por la policía— se encontraba en el séptimo piso de la tienda.
La madre fue atacada por la espalda y recibió un corte en el brazo, mientras que su hijo resultó ileso. Minutos más tarde fueron trasladados al hospital, donde ella fue estabilizada.
Medios de comunicación señalan que la víctima iba acompañada por su esposo, quien desarmó a la mujer y la retuvo hasta que llegó la policía. Tanto la mujer como su pareja trabajan como oficiales en el Departamento del Sheriff del Condado de Los Ángeles.
Sobre la presunta agresora, la policía neoyorkina la identificó como Kerri Aherne, de 43 años, oriunda de Tewksbury, Massachusetts. De acuerdo con medios locales, la mujer se encuentra en situación de calle y no tiene antecedentes penales.
Sin embargo, ahora enfrenta cargos por intento de äsësinäto, posesión de armas y por poner en peligro la vida del menor. De acuerdo con ABC News, fue citada para comparecer en un tribunal este viernes 12 de diciembre.
La Policía declaró que el ataque parece no haber sido provocado y que actualmente continúa bajo investigación.
