#YUCATÁN II Con 12 kilogramos de fibra natural y 85 piezas decorativas hechas a mano, un árbol navideño de henequén se ha convertido en símbolo de creatividad y orgullo cultural en Yucatán. La obra fue diseñada y elaborada por Doña Celsa Iuit Moo, artesana originaria del municipio de Xocchel y reconocida como pionera en el trabajo de esta fibra
natural en la entidad.
La pieza, que mide dos metros y medio de altura, fue creada de manera artesanal y representa una reinterpretación de la Navidad a través del llamado “oro verde”, material emblemático de la región. Para la familia Matú Iuit, el proyecto significó un reto colectivo en el que participaron hijos y nietos de la artesana, todos dedicados a la creación de artesanías en henequén.
Doña Celsa, reconocida como Gran Maestra del Arte Popular Mexicano en fibras naturales, ha recibido importantes distinciones a nivel nacional e internacional. En México fue galardonada con el Premio de la Presidencia de la República durante el gobierno de Enrique Peña Nieto, y en el extranjero ha tenido la oportunidad de convivir con personalidades como el expresidente Bill Clinton y la ex primera dama Michelle Obama.
El árbol navideño de henequén se encuentra en exhibición en la Casa Museo ubicada en Paseo de Montejo número 495, donde visitantes locales y turistas pueden apreciar una obra que une tradición, familia y creatividad artesanal, y que rinde homenaje al talento de las manos yucatecas.

Today, I went to the beach front with my children.
