🔸 La nominación del cineasta mexicano por Frankenstein lo coloca entre los favoritos en una terna de alto nivel y refuerza su presencia en la antesala de los Premios Óscar
#ESPECTÁCULOS | Guillermo del Toro fue nominado a la mejor dirección de una película en los Premios DGA, que otorga el Sindicato de Directores de Hollywood, por ‘Frankenstein’.
El mexicano competirá por el galardón junto a Paul Thomas Anderson (‘One Battle After Another’); Chloé Zhao (‘Hamnet’); Ryan Coogler (‘Sinners’); y ‘Josh Safdie (‘Marty Supreme’).
Estos premios suelen ser un fuerte indicador en la carrera al Óscar. En 2018 Del Toro fue nominado en la misma categoría por ‘The Shape of Water‘, filme con el que ganó su primer Óscar como director y que en esa misma edición también se alzó con el premio a la mejor película.
A lo largo de la historia de estos premios, solo ocho ganadores de esta categoría no han logrado convertir su victoria en un Óscar a la mejor dirección, y únicamente dos películas que obtuvieron el Óscar a mejor película no habían ganado previamente el premio del DGA.
El apartado de mejor ópera prima lo disputarán Hasan Hadi (‘The President’s Cake’); Harry Lighton, (‘Pillion’); Alex Russell, (‘Lurker’); Charlie Polinger, (‘The Plague’), así como Eva Victor, ‘Sorry, Baby’.
La 78ª edición de los Premios DGA anunciará a los ganadores el 7 de febrero en Los Ángeles.
