#NUEVOLEÓN | Un caso de abandono y maltrato contra una adulta mayor derivó en una sentencia condenatoria inédita en Nuevo León, luego de que un familiar responsable de su cuidado fuera declarado culpable.
La mujer, quien estaba bajo el cuidado de su hermana, fue localizada en condiciones críticas de salud, con desnutrición severa, deshidratación y en un entorno de insalubridad, por lo que fue trasladada al Hospital Universitario.
Tras recibir atención médica, la adulta mayor fue resguardada de manera temporal por autoridades estatales mientras se realizaban las investigaciones correspondientes sobre el caso.
Como resultado del proceso judicial, se dictó una sentencia de cuatro años de prisión por el delito de abandono de personas, además de una multa económica y la reparación del daño por los gastos médicos.
Este fallo representa la primera sentencia por abandono de una persona adulta mayor en el estado, y sienta un precedente en la atención de casos de vîolēncîa y negligencia dentro del ámbito familiar.
