🔸Los organismos cuestionan la falta de transparencia del proyecto impulsado por la FIFA para vender una participación de los derechos comerciales de la Copa del Mundo a inversionistas privados
#DEPORTES | La oposición al proyecto de la FIFA para permitir inversión privada en los derechos comerciales de la Copa del Mundo continúa creciendo. La UEFA, la Concacaf y la Asociación Europea de Clubes (ECA) manifestaron su rechazo a la iniciativa impulsada por el presidente del organismo, Gianni Infantino, al considerar que carece de transparencia y pone en riesgo la gobernanza del futbol mundial.
La propuesta contempla la creación de una empresa denominada FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE), la cual administraría los derechos comerciales de torneos como la Copa del Mundo y el Mundial de Clubes. Posteriormente, la FIFA vendería una participación minoritaria de esa sociedad a inversionistas privados para obtener recursos destinados al desarrollo del futbol.
Sin embargo, los principales organismos del futbol europeo y de la Concacaf criticaron que el proyecto se presentó sin una consulta previa con las confederaciones, ligas, clubes y futbolistas. Además, cuestionaron el plazo fijado por la FIFA para que las 211 federaciones afiliadas definan si respaldan la iniciativa.
La UEFA aseguró que el plan prioriza intereses económicos sobre el bienestar del deporte, mientras que la Concacaf expresó su preocupación por la falta de información y por el impacto que una mayor comercialización podría tener en el futuro de las competiciones internacionales. La ECA también se sumó a las críticas y pidió un proceso abierto y transparente antes de tomar cualquier decisión.
Por su parte, la FIFA sostiene que el esquema permitiría incrementar los recursos para las federaciones nacionales y fortalecer el desarrollo del futbol en todo el mundo, aunque la propuesta continúa generando un amplio debate entre los principales actores del deporte.
