#CDMX | El creciente número de motociclistas rodando en las calles de la Ciudad de México (CdMx) ha provocado que la convivencia con el resto de los usuarios de las vialidades sea poco tolerante.
Y es que cuantas veces no hemos observado a conductores de motos quebrantar la ley hacia cualquier lado que miremos: circulan por las banquetas, muchas veces sin casco, se desplazan más de dos ocupantes a bordo de la moto, se detienen en los pasos peatonales, conducen en sentido contrario y una larga lista de infracciones que cometen a diario.
Enfocándonos en un escenario en particular, el artículo 21 del Reglamento de Tránsito de la Ciudad de México prohíbe a los motociclistas circular entre carriles, salvo cuando el tránsito vehicular se encuentre completamente detenido y busque colocarse en el área de espera para motocicletas o en un lugar visible para reiniciar la marcha, sin invadir los pasos peatonales.
La razón es que ese tipo de manejo pone en riesgo la seguridad del motociclista y de otros conductores y peatones, además de ser una infracción al Reglamento de Tránsito de CdMx antes mencionada, pues las maniobras temerarias, como los cortes de circulación o cambios abruptos de carril, son peligrosas.
En otras palabras, en medio del tráfico que no está completamente detenido, los otros conductores pueden no ver a la motocicleta, o el motociclista puede no reaccionar a tiempo ante un cambio de carril o frenado de otro vehículo, lo que puede causar una colisión.
En ese sentido, si el motociclista es sorprendido por elementos de tránsito violando este artículo, la sanción económica puede ir de 10 a 20 veces la Unidad de Medida y Actualización (UMA) vigente. Para 2025, el valor de la UMA es de 113.14 pesos, lo que se traduce en multas de entre 1,131.40 y 2,262.80 pesos. Además, esta infracción puede llevar al conductor a ser penalizado con puntos en su licencia.
Las motocicletas son vehículos más vulnerables y cualquier error o imprudencia por parte de otros conductores o del motociclista puede generar consecuencias graves para la integridad física del motociclista y del resto de los usuarios de la vía.
