#QUINTANAROO | De los servicios de turismo médico que se ofrecen en Quintana Roo 70 por ciento se concentra en la atención dental, por lo cual y en busca de fortalecer la industria, se llevó a cabo la 1ª Rueda de Negocios organizada por la Confederación Patronal de la República Mexicana (Coparmex).
“Este evento busca detonar el turismo dental en Cancún, dentro de todas las ramas médicas que se ejercen dentro del turismo médico en Cancún, el turismo dental es el que atrae la mayor cantidad de pacientes a nuestro destino; actualmente tenemos cerca de 50 a 70 clínicas que están activamente proveyendo servicios a pacientes extranjeros y el día de hoy reunimos a 12 de esas clínicas para que pudieran tener un acercamiento con promotores turísticos”, informó Andrés Jurado, presidente de la Comisión de Turismo Médico de Coparmex y director general de My Medical Vacation.
Esta es la primera vez que las clínicas dentales tienen la oportunidad de ofrecer sus servicios a estos expertos en turismo que son agencias de viajes DMC’s, tour operadores, administradores de rentas vacacionales, que tienen contacto con miles de pacientes al año, miles de visitantes y que puede ser una buena oportunidad de negocio para incrementar su oferta.
Y para las clínicas también es una manera interesante de poder generar un mayor flujo de pacientes, además la atracción de los tratamientos dentales, dijo, se debe principalmente a que son tratamientos de bajo impacto, de bajo riesgo y por eso es que es un poquito más fácil la decisión para ese paciente internacional decidir hacerse un tratamiento dental.
Pero se convierte también en una puerta de entrada para conocer todo lo que ofrece el destino, porque una vez que el turista conoce la calidad que existe en los servicios médicos, deciden explorar otras áreas médicas a nivel hospitalario, quirúrgico, de mayor complejidad.
“Por eso es que tenemos que cuidar y fomentar muchísimo el turismo dental y creo que esa es una gran oportunidad para ello. El ahorro de promedio de un tratamiento dental es alrededor de 70 por ciento, para que más o menos tengamos una idea, un implante dental en Cancún te puede costar de mil a mil 200 dólares más o menos y en Estados Unidos cuesta de 3 a 4 mil dólares, el mismo implante, la misma marca, de la misma manufactura”, aseveró.
Hasta ahora, el turismo dental y el médico en general, ha mostrado ser muy resiliente y eso se percibió desde la pandemia, porque fue el paciente el primer turista en regresar y cada vez hay más clínicas aperturando en el destino.
Por la naturaleza de los tratamientos dentales la mayoría de los turistas que vienen por algún servicio, 90 por ciento, requiere dos fases, lo cual implica un retorno de ese turista y cada etapa de estancia dependiendo de la clínica y del tratamiento ronda entre los 7 y los 10 días y el ticket promedio entre los 7 y los 10 mil dólares.
